Replacing the Idle Control Valve

Model: Ford Escort MK 4 - Years 1990-2000

First, ensure that the bonnet remains safely open so you can work comfortably. The idle control valve (ICV) is located at the rear, near the throttle cable. You will need to remove the intake duct and throttle body: the valve is situated just below the throttle body, positioned laterally to the flange to which the throttle body is attached; unscrew the valve's mounting bolts, remove it, and replace it with the new one, also changing the gasket. Once the installation is complete, you may need to reset the engine warning light.

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level.
