Replacement of the Wheel Side Driveshaft Boot

Replacing the driveshaft boot requires removing the CV joint from the driveshaft itself. There are patented boots available that can be installed without disassembly, as they are open and can be glued after being fitted. To proceed traditionally, lift the vehicle on a ramp, remove the front wheel, the driveshaft retaining nut, and the suspension arm ball joint to extract the driveshaft from the hub. Remove the boot and use pliers to close the circlip that secures the CV joint to the driveshaft for removal. Then insert the new boot, fill the joint with grease, and refit it onto the driveshaft. Secure the boot with the appropriate clips.
