Replacing the Battery in a Ford S-Max

To change the battery in a Ford S-Max, open the bonnet and secure it with the prop rod. Start by unscrewing the screws that secure the brake fluid reservoir, move it aside, and proceed to remove the air filter box by disconnecting the outlet hose, electrical connections, and unscrewing the fixing screws. This will give you better access to the old battery, which you can release by unscrewing a nut that secures the mounting bracket. Remove the battery and disconnect the terminals, ensuring they do not contact any metal parts of the bodywork or engine. Apply some grease to the terminals of the new battery, position it in place, and reconnect the terminals, taking care to respect the correct polarity. Screw the mounting bracket back in place. Refit the air filter, reconnect the hose and electrical connections, and finally, screw the brake fluid reservoir back in.
