When to Change the Timing Belt on a Ford C-Max

Model: Ford C Max MK 1 - Years 2003-2010
Part: Timing belt

Only attempt to replace the timing belt yourself if you have a good understanding of general mechanics: a simple mistake could severely damage the engine. Start by lifting the vehicle to remove the front right wheel (passenger side) and the corresponding wheel arch to comfortably access the timing belt area. Loosen the tensioner for the auxiliary belt and remove it. Take off the crankshaft pulley and the protective plastics of the timing belt. Place a support under the engine to remove the side mount and replace the timing belt. Align the timing marks, loosen the tensioner, and slide off the belt. Remove the idler pulley, tensioner, and water pump, installing new components and inserting the new belt. Refit all previously removed parts.
