To replace the alternator on a Ford Focus, you need to loosen the bolts securing the right front wheel, which must be completely removed along with the corresponding inner wheel arch cover. Once these parts are removed, you can take off the plastic cover from the top of the engine block by loosening the alternator pulley on the left.

Then, you can also remove the belt and subsequently loosen the screws securing the alternator: it can then be removed and replaced with a new spare part.
