How to Open the Bonnet of a Ford Focus

Opening the bonnet on many Ford models is not done using the classic lever located at the bottom left on the driver's side; instead, use the vehicle key to operate a lock located just below the manufacturer's badge at the centre of the grille. By turning the badge, you access the lock where you insert the key and turn it to release the catch and open the bonnet. It often happens that the plastic gear intended to activate the lock gets damaged, preventing the bonnet from opening. To resolve this issue, you must detach the entire grille to unlock the lock and proceed with repairs by replacing the plastic part.
