Replacing the timing belt requires good general mechanical knowledge as an error in its installation could severely damage the engine; the replacement kit includes the timing belt, tensioner, idler pulley, and water pump; it is advisable to lift the vehicle to remove the front right wheel and the corresponding wheel arch to access the auxiliary belt; at this point, rotate the crankshaft pulley to align the timing marks, remove the side engine support, move the radiator fluid reservoir, and remove the timing belt cover; insert a pin to hold the fuel pump pulley in position and proceed with replacing the kit.
