The filter that protects the intake circuit of the injection system on the Ford Fiesta from dust and dirt in the incoming air must be replaced periodically to ensure its effectiveness. Upon reaching the specified mileage, open the bonnet of the engine compartment, disconnect the intake pipe from the filter housing in the centre of the compartment, remove the two screws that secure it, and after loosening the clamp, pull off the pipe near the oil filler and the breather pipe.

Remove the filter box and place it on a work surface, unscrew the screws that secure the cover, open it, and take out the old filter. Clean the surfaces, insert the new filter element, close the cover, and secure it with the screws.

Refit the box onto the engine and reconnect the pipes.
