How to Reset the Oil Light in a GMC Sierra?

Model: GMC Sierra MK 3 - Years 2007-2014

Make sure all doors of the GMC Sierra are properly closed, then turn the key without starting the engine. At this point, press the accelerator pedal all the way down three times in quick succession. Try to keep it under five seconds total to ensure the operation is successful. After this step, turn the key to the off position. By turning on the instrument cluster, you can now check that the oil change light has reset. If it is still on, repeat the procedure, trying to be quicker in pressing the pedal.
