Front Suspension Wishbone Ball Joint Replacement

Model: Hyundai Elantra XD, MK 3 - Years 2000-2006

Lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift and remove the front wheel; unscrew the fixing nuts of the link that connects the anti-roll bar to the wishbone; proceed to remove the ball joint of the wishbone connected to the hub and then the mounting bolts of the wishbone to the subframe as well as the one fixing it to the chassis (near the exhaust where there is a triangular plate). At this point, you can remove the wishbone from the suspension, secure it in a vice, and remove the ball joint by taking off the retaining circlip and extracting the joint using a tube of appropriate diameter. Then insert the new joint by pressing it into place (better if using a press) and applying the corresponding retaining circlip and protective rubber. Proceed in reverse for installation on the vehicle.
