Wishbone Ball Joint Replacement

Model: Hyundai Santa Fe MK 1 - Years 2000-2006

To replace the ball joint connecting the suspension wishbone to the wheel hub, it is necessary to remove the entire wishbone. Lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift and remove the front wheel. Remove the fixing bolt of the ball joint and extract it from its seat using a fork tool. Then, remove the other fixing bolts of the wishbone and take it out of its seat. Secure the wishbone in a vice, remove any remaining rubber boot, and disengage the retaining circlip to extract the ball joint with a hammer. Then, insert the new ball joint into the same seat using a hammer (preferably use a press) and reposition the circlip.
