How to Replace Car Brake Discs

Model: Hyundai Accent MK 1, LC - Years 1999-2005

Brakes are one of the most important parts for road safety. A good braking system is essential for safety in a vehicle. You can change the brake discs on your car with a few simple steps. When they are worn, it is time to replace them; many manufacturers suggest doing this after approximately 50,000 miles or after replacing the pads twice, or if the thickness of the disc is less than 2-3 millimetres. First, lift the car with a jack and remove the wheel after taking off the wheel bolts. Use an Allen key to unscrew all the bolts that secure the caliper to the frame at the rear. Then, place the car on a flat surface and engage a gear to lock the front wheels. Next, you can remove the brake caliper. At this point, only the caliper bracket with the brake pads inside remains. Carefully slide out the pads using an appropriate flat screwdriver, taking care not to damage the disc. Also, unscrew the bolts that secure the bracket to the hub. After that, only the brake discs will remain, which can then be replaced.
