Replacing Front Discs and Pads

Model: Jaguar Xf MK 1 - Years 2008-2015

Position the vehicle on suitable axle stands and remove the front wheel (it is advisable to loosen the nuts before lifting); detach the outer retaining spring, remove the protective caps from the caliper fixing bolts, and unscrew them to remove the caliper from the bracket; disconnect the brake wear sensor connector and extract the old pads, also removing the caliper bracket; then remove the retaining ring that holds the disc in place and take it off the hub; clean the disc seat on the hub, install the new disc, the caliper bracket, the new pads complete with sensor, and the caliper after retracting the piston with the appropriate tool; you may notice that the old disc is particularly scored and worn down, to the point that a noticeable lip has formed on the edge.
