Unlocking the automatic transmission of the Jeep Cherokee in 2017 is a simple operation that can be easily done independently using a small flathead screwdriver. To unlock the transmission, we need to climb onto the edge of the vehicle and lift the cover of the left armrest. We use the small screwdriver to lift the cover of the transmission mechanism and by pulling the orange lever, we raise the mechanism. We move the small lever of the mechanism with the screwdriver to completely unlock the transmission. We close the cover of the mechanism and the cover of the left armrest to test the operation of the transmission.
