Changing oil on a Jeep Renegade? Here’s how to drain the engine oil on a Jeep Renegade. Open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the bonnet and secure it. Using a socket wrench, unscrew the large securing bolt of the container cap where the oil filter is located. Remove the worn oil filter and install a new one. Lift the car on a jack and unscrew the bolt of the oil sump; allow the fluid to drain into a container. Test the engine operation after topping up with new oil.

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after.
