This guide shows how to replace the battery of the key fob on the Jeep Compass Mk1. The first step is to locate a small recess on the side of the fob and insert a small flathead screwdriver to separate the two halves of the device. At this point, you can remove the rubber keypad and the integrated circuit; be careful not to damage anything.

Replace the battery with a CR2032 button battery. Reassemble all previously detached parts and check the correct functioning of the fob.
