Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement

Model: Kia Rio DC, MK 1 - Years 2000-2005

Loosen the rear wheel mounting bolts before lifting the vehicle and securing it on appropriate axle stands. Then remove the wheel and the protective cap of the central hub nut: the nut has a dent to prevent it from accidentally loosening; you can try to straighten it with a screwdriver (if you want to unscrew it manually) or simply unscrew it with a pneumatic gun. At this point, slide off the hub bell, remove the old bearing, and insert the new one (or clean and grease the old one); reposition the hub bell, the front washer, and then tighten the nut, re-denting it with a hammer and chisel, and reattach the cap (straightening the edges if necessary).
