How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Land Rover Discovery

To replace the timing belt on a Land Rover Discovery 4, open the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove the engine covers and any components that obstruct access to the timing system. Bring the engine to top dead center and lock the shafts using the appropriate timing tools. Loosen the tensioner and remove the old timing belt, checking the condition of the pulleys and rollers. Install the new belt following the correct routing specified by the manufacturer and replace the tensioners and guide rollers if included in the kit. Adjust the tension according to the engine specifications and verify that the timing is correct by manually rotating the engine. Once the check is complete, reassemble all previously removed parts, reconnect the battery, and start the engine to ensure the system operates normally without unusual noises.
