How to Replace the Auxiliary Belt on a Land Rover Freelander

Before you begin, engage the handbrake and put the car in first gear. Start by lifting the vehicle and removing the front left wheel to carry out the replacement without obstruction. Next, remove the two bolts securing the inner plastic of the wheel arch, then take off the plastic itself. This will give you access to the auxiliary belt. Before removing it, loosen the tensioner by unscrewing (but not removing) the bolt that secures it. Once the tensioner is loosened, you can remove the belt. To fit the new belt, simply follow these instructions in reverse, and you will have successfully completed the replacement.
