Differential Replacement

The differential transfers torque from a wheel with limited traction to one with more available traction, improving handling and overall performance. The following guide shows how to replace the differential. First, remove the clutch pack by lifting the rear of the car with a jack. Once the screws are loosened and the cover is removed, clean the residue from the bottom of the differential. While waiting for the discs to lubricate, unscrew the bolt that secures the pinion and push the shaft outward. To do this, you must remove the wheels and shift the axles inward to reach the C-clips that hold the axles in place. Once these clips are removed, the axles can also be taken out. To install the new clutch pack, first remove the clutch discs from the lubricant oil and arrange them in the following order: FAAFAAF. Once this is done, you can insert the new clutch pack and the shaft into the differential, taking great care.
