How to Access the Fuel Pump Inspection Cover on Lincoln MKZ MK1

This guide shows how to access the fuel pump compartment on a Lincoln MKZ MK1. The first step is to go to the rear seat compartment and lift the seat cushion by operating the two levers located under the bench. Once the bench is removed, you need to remove the three 7 mm bolts that allow access to the inspection cover. Clean the recess from dirt before extracting the pump. Remove the fuel line and the electrical connector, and remove the pump locking ring; at this stage, it is possible that fuel will come out of the fuel line. Reassembly is done in reverse order of disassembly.
