How to Change the Engine Oil in a Maserati Ghibli DIY

To change the oil in a Maserati Ghibli, work with the engine warm (not hot) and on a level surface. Secure the car with axle stands/ramps, engage the handbrake, and prepare a large container for collecting the used oil. If present, remove the lower cover to access the sump. Locate the drain plug, position the container, and unscrew the plug to let the oil drain completely. Once the draining is finished, refit the plug with its washer/seal in good condition (if replaceable, a new one is better) and tighten to the correct torque specified in the Maserati Ghibli manual (do not overtighten). Next, move on to the oil filter: remove the necessary access, replace the filter element and any seals/O-rings on the cover (lightly lubricating them with clean oil), then close it properly without pinching the seals. Now, open the filler cap, pour in the new oil with the grade specified for your Maserati Ghibli, and close it. Start the engine for a few seconds, turn it off, and check for any leaks around the drain plug and filter. After a few minutes, check the oil level (according to the monitoring system on the car) and adjust if necessary without exceeding the maximum.
