Replacing the battery in the remote key for the Mazda CX-5 is a straightforward DIY task: first, obtain a replacement battery, which is a CR 2025, 3 V. Rotate the key and locate the tab on the back to extract the metal key. Inside the key slot, there are two side slots where you should insert the tip of a screwdriver to pry off the rear cover, beneath which is the battery protected by an additional cap with an O-ring. Remove the old battery and insert the new one, ensuring it is oriented in the same direction to respect polarity, then reassemble the remote key in reverse order.
