Gearbox Oil Replacement

Model: Mazda Rx 8 MK 1 - Years 2003-2012

The gearbox oil also requires periodic replacement, but if you experience gear engagement issues, it is advisable to replace the oil in the gearbox. Lift the vehicle and place a suitable container under the engine to collect the used oil. Open the filler cap to allow air to enter. Slowly unscrew the oil drain plug on the gearbox sump and let it drain. Replace the drain plug seals, then securely close the plug and fill the gearbox with the appropriate oil; the correct oil level is at the edge of the filler hole. Do not dispose of used oil in the environment; take it to designated collection centres.
