Replacing the coolant temperature sensor in a Mazda 3, as shown in this tutorial, is an extremely simple and quick task. Before proceeding, wait for the engine to be completely cold for safety. Start by opening the cap of the expansion tank to release the internal pressure. Then, locate the sensor in the lower left area of the engine, just below the battery. Next, disconnect the power connector, unscrew the sensor with a long 19mm spanner, and quickly insert the replacement. Once securely tightened, reconnect the connector.
