How to Start the Forced Regeneration Process on a Mazda CX-7

Model: Mazda Cx 7 MK 1 - Years 2006-2012

In this video, we see that this Mazda CX-7 has the DPF warning light illuminated on the dashboard, so the presenter will show how to carry out the forced regeneration process. You will need a small piece of wire (as shown in the video). First, locate a small connector at the top left of the engine bay. Remove the cover. Use the wire to connect these two terminals (the engine must be off, but the vehicle should be warm; otherwise, the process will not work). Now start the engine and press the accelerator fully twice. This will automatically raise the idle to 1,800 RPM, and the regeneration process will begin; this procedure takes a maximum of 60 minutes, and at the end, the vehicle will return to its normal idle level. Then run it for another three minutes or so to allow it to return to its normal state before turning it off.
