Replacement of the Cabin Air Filter for the Air Conditioning System

Locate the position of the cabin air filter for the air conditioning system, which is found in the glove compartment on the passenger side. Open the compartment and push on the sides as indicated in the images by the arrows numbered 2. This prepares the flap for removal. At this point, unscrew the screws that secure the flap, indicated by the arrows numbered 3 in the images, and remove it from its position. Remove the cover of the filter housing. Extract the filter and place the new one in the same position, ensuring that the holes align exactly with those in the cover that hold the filter in the correct position. The cabin air filter for the air conditioning system should be replaced every 15,000 miles or at least once a year. This maintenance operation was performed on a Mazda 6.
