On the Mercedes E-Class, reset the automatic transmission by turning on the ignition and turning the key in the ignition switch: once the dashboard is lit, press the accelerator pedal for about thirty seconds. Then turn off the ignition and release the pedal; after this operation, wait a few minutes before starting the car again.

At this point, once the engine is running, drive for about fifteen minutes to allow the transmission to adapt to the new settings.
