How to reset the automatic transmission of a Mercedes car

Model: Mercedes Classe C W204 - Years 2007-2013
Part: Transmission

Video tutorial
Detailed instructions - If the automatic transmission of our Mercedes is slow, or jerky, then we need to reset the TCU (Transmission Control Unit) and clear the learning errors that have accumulated. This system works on most C-Class, E-Class, and S-Class models, but is not suitable for non-adaptive transmissions and some hybrid models. By doing this reset, we will get smoother shifts, correct slow acceleration, irregular and skipping shifts; it is also necessary if you have purchased a used car or have changed your driving style for any reason. Get in the car, insert the key and turn on only the ignition, press the accelerator all the way down until you hear the "click" of the kick down switch; hold the pedal for 15 seconds, then turn off the ignition and release the accelerator. Wait for 5 minutes without touching anything; after that, we can open and close the doors, start the engine and take a drive: the next 50 gear changes are crucial for the system to learn our driving style.

How to Adjust the Handbrake on a BMW 1 Series?

To adjust the handbrake on a BMW 1 Series, use a tool to pry off the leather cover that wraps around the base of the handbrake lever. Once this cover is removed, you will be able to locate the spring that regulates the handbrake tension. At this point, adjust the nut located at the base of the spring: tightening the nut will make the handbrake firmer and reduce the lever's travel. Conversely, loosening the nut will decrease the handbrake's firmness and increase the lever's travel.
