What can cause the SRS warning light to turn on in a Mercedes?

In this video, we can see what can cause the SRS light - and thus the airbag - to turn on in a Mercedes. The first thing to do is to check under the seats; in fact, the simplest issue could be a loose connection of the airbag connector, which is located right under the seat. Any work on these connectors should always be done with the vehicle turned off. Another check is on the battery. If we have done any work on the battery or changed it, then the SRS will signal an error. To clear the error, an OBD scanner is necessary to read and erase the error; a budget model is fine as long as it can support Mercedes codes. Another component that could have caused the error is the seat belts: if the buckle sensor does not trigger correctly, it will signal the SRS error; finally, it could be an issue with the SRS control unit, but only after we have ruled out all the other previous problems.
