The 1998 Mercedes SL 500 has a fuse box that contains the fuses for the operation of the vehicle's electronic components. The fuse box is located under the hood, specifically on the right side next to the battery.

To access the fuse box and replace a fuse, remove the cover by pressing on the sides. On the back of the cover, there is a label that shows the location and amperage of each fuse, which helps during replacement.

It is very important to replace each fuse with one of the same amperage to avoid short circuits in the control unit. The fuses inside the box are categorized as: small, medium, and relay, which are the high amperage fuses, such as those for the starter motor and the battery.
