Disassembling the Ignition Key of a Mercedes A-Class

Change the battery in the key of a Mercedes A-Class. First, open the key fob and remove the emergency key from inside. Pry between the two halves until the plastic covers separate. Remove the worn-out battery with a screwdriver. Take a new battery of the same size and voltage. Insert the new battery into the key fob, then snap the cover back together (join the two halves) until you hear it click into place. Check the remote's functionality by pressing the lock and unlock buttons for the door locks. Finally, insert the emergency key back into the key fob.
