To reset the automatic transmission on the Mercedes A-Class, turn on the ignition by inserting the key into the ignition switch. Once the dashboard lights up, press the accelerator pedal for about twenty seconds.

After this time has passed, release the accelerator pedal and then turn off the ignition. When you turn the ignition back on, you can check that the automatic transmission has been successfully reset to the default settings.
