Removing the EGR valve on a Mercedes A-Class? Let's see how to remove the faulty part from inside the engine compartment. Lift the hood and secure it. Remove the engine cover plastics and hoses. Use a socket wrench to loosen the mounting bolts on the metal part of the EGR valve. Clean the EGR valve or replace it. Install the new EGR valve inside the engine compartment (tighten the mounting screws). Reinstall the engine cover plastics and hoses. Test the operation of the EGR valve. Start the engine and check its operation.
