How to Remove the Headlight of the Mercedes A-Class (W169)

Today, remove the front headlight of the Mercedes A-Class. First, gather a socket wrench set. Open the hood and identify the bolts securing the headlight to the body, then remove them. You also need to remove the center cover to access the bolts underneath. Next, lower the bumper to reach the third headlight mounting screw, which is hidden from view; move the wheel splash shield and unscrew the bumper mounting screws. Pull the bumper down and use an extension to unscrew the last bolt. You can then disconnect the headlight electrical connectors and remove the headlight. Remove the metal brackets from the mounting points and reinstall them on the new headlight assembly. To reinstall the headlight, position it first and then screw in all the bolts; then, reattach the bumper and center cover, following the disassembly procedure in reverse.
