How to Change the Transmission Oil and Filter on a Mercedes C-Class

The automatic transmission in the Mercedes C-Class W204 is undoubtedly of the highest quality in terms of construction and functionality, but like all car transmissions, it requires regular and proper maintenance. For this reason, this guide will explain how to correctly change the transmission oil and its filter. Before you start, remember that this operation must be performed with the engine off and cold to avoid any health risks. First, lift the hood and locate the cap of the transmission oil reservoir. Unscrew it, and then lift the car. Remove the cover located at the bottom of the engine compartment. Position a drain pan under the transmission reservoir and let all the fluid drain out. Reinstall the cap and proceed to remove the old filter. Replace it with a new one, and finally, lower the car. At this point, all that’s left is to pour the new oil into the reservoir, and you're done.
