How to Replace Engine Oil and the Oil Filter

In this video, the engine oil and filter are replaced on a Mercedes M-Class. Ensure the vehicle's engine is cold. Open the bonnet and remove the plastic cover located above the engine. Using a 16 mm spanner, unscrew the oil sump plug located under the vehicle on the passenger side. Also, open the top plug to facilitate the draining of the oil. Collect the oil in a disposal container. Take the opportunity to replace the filter: unscrew its cap with a universal spanner, remove the old filter, and replace it with a new one, positioning it in the same place as the old one. Lubricate its threads with a bit of oil and insert it into its housing, tightening it by hand. After cleaning (or replacing) it, refit the bolt that serves as the lower plug for the sump; pour in the new oil and adjust the quantity using the dipstick.
