Engine Oil and Filter Replacement

Model: Mercedes Classe M W163 - Years 1997-2005

Position the vehicle on suitable axle stands and place a sufficiently large container to hold the nearly eight litres of oil that will be drained from the sump. Then, unscrew the drain plug located on the side of the sump and, in the meantime, proceed with replacing the oil filter cartridge located at the front right of the engine bay (when viewed from the front): unscrew the cap and extract the old filter, apply the new cartridge and the new O-rings always included in the new filter packaging, and coat them with clean oil before screwing in. Refit the drain plug under the sump and fill the engine with new oil until reaching the correct level.
