How to Reset the Automatic Transmission on the Mercedes E-Class

To reset and factory restore the automatic transmission on the Mercedes E-Class, follow these steps: Access the driver's seat, turn the key to the 'on' position (do not start the engine), press the accelerator pedal all the way down and hold it for at least 30 seconds (during this time, a self-diagnostic system for the transmission activates); after 30 seconds, turn the key off, wait a few seconds, then release the accelerator pedal. At this point, wait at least 2 minutes with the ignition off. The reset will then be complete.
