During routine maintenance (such as an oil change or tire replacement) or whenever the vehicle is on a lift or in a service pit, it is essential to check the integrity of the exhaust pipe, starting from the flanges connecting to the exhaust manifold to the tailpipe.

Ensure there are no holes caused by rust or accidental impacts, that the expansions are intact, especially at the welded connections, that the connecting flanges are properly tightened, and that the support bushings are not worn or about to break.
