Front Wheel Hub Bearing Replacement

Model: Mercedes Classe A W168 - Years 1997-2004

Lift the vehicle on a lift and remove the front wheel; remove the protective cap at the center of the hub and unscrew the axle nut; remove the brake caliper with the bracket and take off the brake rotor; unscrew the nut securing the ball joint of the suspension arm and pull it out of its seat; repeat the same procedure with the tie rod end of the steering box; remove the speed sensor and the bolts securing the shock absorber to the hub support; then extract the hub along with its support and place it on a workbench; use a socket and hammer to remove the hub flange, detach the retaining snap ring of the bearing, and use a press to extract the bearing by pushing it with a suitable diameter bushing; perform the reverse operation to install the new bearing and then the flange, always using the press; reassemble everything back onto the vehicle in reverse order.
