Removing the Bonnet Lock Lever

Model: Mercedes Clk A208, W208, C208 - Years 1997-2003

When you activate the bonnet release lever inside the cabin, it disengages the first stage of the lock (the bonnet remains attached) and a second lever is ejected through the grille of the trim: pulling this lever fully opens the lock, allowing you to lift the bonnet. This is a safety feature to prevent accidental openings of the bonnet. If you need to replace the complete opening mechanism with the lever, complete the bonnet opening procedure to access the two fixing pins of the mechanism: once the pins are removed, you can also take off the lever.
