The mass air sensor, commonly known as the airflow meter, has a fundamental function: it provides the engine management unit with information regarding the mass of air drawn into the engine, based on which fuel injection is managed. It is clear that a malfunction of this sensor will affect performance and fuel consumption. Removing it is extremely simple as it is located right at the outlet of the engine air filter box. Just remove the two clips that secure it to the intake duct to disconnect the corresponding connector.
