To replace the timing chain on a Mercedes C-Class, open the hood to access the components inside the engine compartment. Remove the plastic covers located on top of the engine block.

Once these are removed, take out the bolts securing the valve cover and those securing the front panel of the engine block. Underneath, you will find the chain, which can be removed by unscrewing the bolts that secure the tensioner and sliding it off the appropriate sprockets.
