In the following steps of this guide, in particular, we will see how to correctly reset the ECU of our car. First of all, let's make sure that our machine remains off and without power for a minimum of 10 or 11 hours, so as to prevent unpleasant damage. When we're finally ready, we unhook the hood of our car. We open the cover that covers the battery housing, identify the positive battery connector and disconnect it. You have to be very careful not to let the positive pole come into contact with the negative one. After 10 hours we can then proceed to reconnect the positive connector to the relative pole of the car battery. We reopen the hood putting it in safety, remove the protective plastic from the cable, reconnect it to the battery taking care to tighten the nut firmly with the wrench, then cover the battery with its protection and close the hood. At this point our ECU should finally be reset.
