To reset the automatic transmission of the Mercedes E-Class, you need to insert the ignition key into the appropriate slot: once the ignition is on, you can press the accelerator pedal for about thirty seconds. After this interval of time, you can release the accelerator pedal and turn off the ignition, waiting a few more seconds. After a moment has passed, you can then move the gear lever in all directions to unlock it. Once the transmission is unlocked, you can remove the ignition key from the slot.
