A problem that can occur on the Mini three-cylinder.

Model: Mini Mini Countryman2, F60 - Years 2017-2023
Part: Timing belt

In this video, we are shown a problem that can occur quite frequently on Mini cars with a three-cylinder engine, and that must be kept an eye on, in order to avoid serious troubles. If we open the hood and see that there is rust dust on the alternator, and the same dust has also dirtied the service belt, it means that the tensioner of the service belt is deteriorating and can break at any moment; the risk is that the car stops, because if the service belt breaks, the alternator no longer charges, and with all the utilities that are now on modern cars, the battery discharges in a few kilometers. Lifting the car, we see that the tensioner is off-center, and is wearing out, until the moment when the belt will jump off: at that point neither the alternator nor the water pump will work, with the consequences that we can imagine.

How to Remove the Gear Knob on a Renault Scenic

Want to replace the gear knob on a Scenic? Let’s see how to do it in this video. First, detach the leather gaiter cover from the edge of the centre console. Use a plastic spatula to remove the cap indicating the gear numbers. Grip the knob and twist it until it comes off the shaft. Disconnect the knob from the gaiter, fit a new one onto the gaiter (if the gaiter is damaged, replace it with a new one) and attach it to the metal shaft. Finally, secure the connectors of the leather gaiter onto the centre console.
