When to change the timing chain of the Mini Countryman

Model: Mini Mini R60, Countryman1 - Years 2010-2016
Part: Timing belt

As we had already explained for the belt, the timing chain also has the task of synchronizing the rotation of the crankshaft with the movement of the valves. Instead of the more classic timing belt, some vehicles use a special chain, which can be either dry or in an oil bath. As in the case of the timing belt, a breakage of this element can even lead to irreparable damage to the engine, as valves and pistons would collide inside the cylinders. On the other hand, however, a chain is more robust and has a longer average life than a belt. On this car, the manufacturer provides for replacement every 120,000 km or 6.8 years.

How to Remove the Front Brake Pads on a Chrysler PT Cruiser

To remove the front brake pads on a Chrysler PT Cruiser, position the car on a column lift and raise it to a comfortable height. Unscrew the pins using a socket wrench or air drill and remove the wheel. Then, use a screwdriver to detach the brake pads. Next, remove the caliper bracket and unscrew the pins on the brake disc (using a Torx screwdriver). Pull the disc towards you to slide it off the hub. Install the new brake disc with all associated pins, secure the caliper bracket to the disc and the pads, then mount the brake caliper, ensuring all pins are tightened properly. Before mounting the wheel, bleed the brake caliper and tighten the pin.
