Engine oil and the oil filter must be replaced regularly to ensure the engine operates correctly; here’s how to perform the service on the Mitsubishi ASX. First, raise the vehicle and start unscrewing the oil drain bolt located on the sump using a socket or star spanner; allow it to drain into a container for about ten minutes.

At this point, use the appropriate tool to unscrew and remove the oil filter cartridge, replacing it with a new one; then pour in the new engine oil as specified in the owner's manual!
