How to Change the Engine Oil and Filter on the Nissan Qashqai

Then, open the bonnet and locate the oil filler point, leaving it ready for later refilling. The "dirty" work is done from underneath: lift the Nissan Qashqai and secure it, then access the drain plug of the sump. The video shows the oil draining into a container, with the plug being unscrewed and then replaced once all the oil has drained. Always ensure the engine is not hot, hold the container in position, and be cautious of the flow when the plug is released. After draining, move on to the oil filter. On the Nissan Qashqai, unscrew the plastic cover of the filter housing, remove the old cartridge, and work on the seal: the video clearly shows the O-ring being removed from its housing and replaced with a new one before inserting the new cartridge into the filter housing. At this point, reassemble the unit and refit it. After securing the underside, return to the top for refilling: use a funnel to pour new oil into the filler cap. Finally, check the level with the dipstick to ensure it is correct before closing everything up.
